The Sonic Planet Congratulates the St. Augustine Amphitheater on Prestigious Billboard Award
The St. Augustine Amphitheatre has been named “Top East Coast Amphitheater” by Billboard Magazine as part of the publication’s annual Top Music Venues List. The recognition marks a first for the venue and places The St. Augustine Amphitheatre among the top concert venues across the United States and international markets.
Billboard Magazine writer Dave Brooks describes The St. Augustine Amphitheatre as, “Built into a former coquina quarry and covered by a tensile canopy, The Amp combines coastal air, crisp acoustics and clear sightlines from every seat. The result is a concert setting that feels both relaxed and electric — Florida charm with global reach.”
The Top Music Venues List is selected by Billboard Magazine editors based on quantitative Billboard Boxscore data as well as qualitative information including the reputation of the venue, recent or notable upcoming bookings, and more. As Billboard explains, “This report identifies 28 venues that define the live-music experience today — the rooms that artists dream of playing and fans flock to for unforgettable nights.”
“Being named Billboard’s Top East Coast Amphitheater is an incredible honor, and it truly belongs to the artists, fans, and music community who bring The St. Augustine Amphitheatre to life with every show,” said Gabe Pellicer, CEO & President of SJC Cultural Events, Inc., the 501c3 organization that operates The St. Augustine Amphitheatre. “From the performers who take our stage to the fans who show up with so much passion and support, this recognition reflects what makes this venue such a special place to experience live music.”
The recognition comes as The St. Augustine Amphitheatre completes preparations for its highly anticipated 2026 concert season. The season will include performances by Rod Stewart, Santana, James Taylor, Billy Strings, Alabama Shakes, Vince Gill, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and more with additional shows to be announced in the coming weeks.
